After just two episodes of its 13th season on TF1, “Dance with the Stars” will take a break this Friday, March 1st. Instead, the network will air a different program. Télé-Loisirs explains the reason for this scheduling change.
Fans of “Dance with the Stars” may find themselves disappointed. The beloved dance competition, which did not air in 2023, made a triumphant return to TF1 on February 16th. For this thirteenth season, host Camille Combal returns, accompanied by a panel of veteran judges including Fauve Hautot, Jean-Marc Généreux, Chris Marques, and newcomer Mel Charlot. During the first two episodes, this year’s celebrities had the chance to deliver their initial performances—some of which, like Inès Reg’s, were particularly impressive—with their respective partners.
Rescheduling: What Program Will Replace “Dance with the Stars” This Friday, March 1st?
However, viewers will need to wait a bit longer to witness the first elimination. “Dance with the Stars” will not air this Friday, March 1st. Instead, TF1 will broadcast the annual “Les Enfoirés” concert at 9:10 PM. The dance competition will return the following week, on Friday, March 8th, which will be significant as it marks the season’s first elimination night, where one of the twelve celebrities will be leaving the competition.
Les Enfoirés 2024: Meet the Six New Artists Joining This Year’s Line-up
For the 35th edition of “Les Enfoirés”, around fifty celebrities have come together. Among them are six new faces: Santa from the band Hyphen Hyphen, actress Claudia Tagbo, singer Gaëtan Roussel, Paris Opera dancers Marc Moreau and Yvon Demol, and singer-songwriter Ycare. Ycare collaborated with Patrick Bruel, a longstanding member of the ensemble, to create “Jusqu’au dernier,” the anthem for 2024. The concert, airing this Friday, March 1st, was recorded in January at the Arkéa Arena near Bordeaux. The accompanying double CD and DVD, titled “On a 35 ans!” (We’re 35!), will be available the day after the broadcast, with sales supporting the provision of seventeen meals per purchase for Les Restos du Cœur.
Exceptionally, “Dance with the Stars” Will Not Air This Friday, March 1st. But Why?
Due to a once-a-year major event, TF1 is making room in its schedule. Eager to see the third episode of “Dance with the Stars”? After two episodes showcasing the celebrity contestants’ dancing prowess, it’s nearly time for the public to vote and eliminate the first contestant. Well, almost time. In a twist, TF1 is heightening the anticipation by delaying this moment for an additional week. Instead, this Friday, March 1st, 2024, at 9:10 PM, the network will broadcast a different musical event: the “Les Enfoirés 2024” concert. This annual television event, marking the 35th anniversary of the “Les Enfoirés” ensemble, attracts millions of viewers each year. Recorded in January 2024 at Bordeaux’s Arkéa Arena, the concert will feature a vibrant showcase from 47 artists including singers, actors, and comedians. The following day, proceeds from the sales of the double CD and DVD will support Les Restos du Coeur, with each sale enabling the volunteer organization to distribute 17 meals.
What’s New with the Enfoirés?
Despite the notable absence of Mimie Mathy, who has shared her reasons, the Enfoirés continue to rely on stalwarts like Julien Clerc, Zazie, Michèle Laroque, Kad Merad, and Dany Boon. Returnees such as Shy’m, Matt Pokora, Raphaël, and Lara Fabian are back on stage, adding to the excitement. Among the fresh faces for the 2024 lineup, the group welcomes singer Santa, comedian Claudia Tagbo, musician Gaëtan Roussel, and singer Ycare, who has penned this year’s anthem, “Jusqu’au dernier.”
