Renata Lusin Opens Up About Uncertain Future on “Let’s Dance” After Setback with Marc Eggers

Renata Lusin made an energetic and highly anticipated return to “Let’s Dance” in 2025. However, it remains unclear whether the professional dancer will be back on the dance floor for the next season. In a recent Instagram Story, she offered fans a candid look into her thoughts—and shared a few behind-the-scenes details about the lives of the show’s dance professionals.

“Of course I want to come back!” – Renata shares her hopes for 2026

When asked by a fan if she would like to return for the 2026 season of the RTL show, Renata responded with certainty: “Yes, of course. I missed ‘Let’s Dance’ so much during those two years. My comeback felt like a dream come true.”

Renata had to sit out two consecutive seasons due to her pregnancy and the birth of her daughter, Stella. Her return in 2025 was a deeply personal and professional milestone.

New cast each year: RTL’s selection process

As with all professional dancers on the show, RTL’s editorial team makes casting decisions on a yearly basis. The selection depends on several factors, including the number of celebrity participants and the availability of dance professionals. One challenge: there are now more professionals than there are available celebrity spots each season.

Discipline and perseverance: Renata’s inner drive

Despite the uncertainty, Renata remains determined and optimistic. Reflecting on her personal journey, she shared, “I left home when I was just 13, and by 16, I had moved to another country on my own. That kind of experience teaches you discipline and perseverance.”

She credits these qualities for her resilience and her continued passion for both the show and her work as a choreographer.

Who creates the choreography? A look behind the scenes

Weeks after the 18th season wrapped up, Renata offered fans an insider look at how the routines come together. This season, she placed ninth with her celebrity partner Marc Eggers—an unexpectedly low finish for someone of her reputation. Meanwhile, her husband, fellow pro Valentin Lusin, finished sixth alongside actress Christine Neubauer. For the Lusin duo, known for their success on the show, it was a minor setback—but not a serious blow, especially given the stiff competition.

When asked whether the professional dancers choreograph the routines themselves, Renata replied: “Yes, completely as a pair. Though lately, we’ve had a lot of help from Stella.”

She shared a heartwarming video of her toddler joining rehearsals, playfully moving between her legs during practice—a tender glimpse into the balance between her family life and demanding career.

Looking ahead with hope

Although her spot in the next season hasn’t been confirmed, Renata’s commitment to her craft, her fans, and her family remains strong. Whether she returns in 2026 or not, one thing is clear: her passion for dance hasn’t skipped a beat.
