The SlumGods Of Mumbai: Hip Hop Dance On A Mission

“The SlumGods of Mumbai: hope, hip-hop and the Dharavi way | Guardian Docs”

The above documentary, The SlumGods of Mumbai, features one young dancer in a hip hop program that takes place in the Dharavi shantytown of Mumbai in India.

The SlumGods program is free for the kids and supported by a related travel company, SlumGods Tours and Travels, that takes visitors on such unique adventures as a Dharavi Slum Tour.

It’s an inspiring initiative and a reminder that, as hip hop has grown to become an international phenomenon, its roots among the poor and dispossessed remain quite powerful.
