Pepper The Dancing Robot Will Soon Be Available For Your Home

Japanese telecom corporation SoftBank will begin selling Pepper, the robot shown in the above demo, to everyday people starting February 2015. Apparently they’re getting ready to roll them out in their mobile retail stores this month.

Japan is definitely the leader in robots designed to interact with humans and Pepper is designed to act as a servant in the home.

As part of the package, Pepper is designed to sense emotions in some way and to behave in a generally cute manner.

One of the big tests for human-like robots has been a series of dance competitions, many held in Japan, in which Pepper would be a strong contender based on the above video.
