Multiple Mary and Invisible Jane: A Dance About Homeless Women In San Francisco

“Multiple Mary and Invisible Jane [Full Show 2014]”

Flyaway Productions, directed by Jo Kreiter, last month performed on a building in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco where one finds many of the city’s homeless and poor.

According to coverage in the SF Examiner, the piece grew from earlier work the aerial dance company did in the Tenderloin. Kreiter says while looking down from their heights she regularly saw homeless women on the street below.

The performance audio includes the voices of homeless women recorded during the creation of this work. The SF Examiner has much more about Multiple Mary and Invisible Jane and the situation of the homeless in San Francisco.
