Kobe Bryant: The Dances Of A Basketball Legend

“There was so much backlash to Kobe Bryant’s IG post, he walked it back with a dance video”

The deaths of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna have touched huge numbers of people. Gianna was deeply involved in basketball, a love she shared with her father, as you can see in the final video of this post.

Though Kobe Bryant is known for his incredible basketball career, he occasionally gave us a glimpse of Kobe Bryant the Dancer. One of those glimpses came after what some perceived as the harsher side of Kobe was revealed after a kids’ basketball game above.

“Kobe Bryant Dances the Tinikling”

Kobe Bryant was much loved in the Philippines though he only visited a few times. On what is likely his first visit he joined in a performance of the traditional Filipino dance, the Tinikling.

“Kobe does the moonwalk and dances during a free throw”

This is a very uncharacteristic moment for Kobe. It’s a bit surreal, given his reputation for extremely serious focus, but it’s nice to see a lighter side. Of course, this clip became a meme and had its moment of glory. The fact that he danced before the final two free throws of his career give this dance an added edge.

“Kobe Bryant Dances with New Baby [Bianka Bella] at Disneyland”

To be honest, most videos of Kobe Bryant dancing are more about the celebrity. He sometimes looks a bit tentative or not fully engaged but that’s what brings a certain kind of realness to these celebrity clips.

However, in a cute little dance with his daughter, Bianka Bella, Kobe looks the most fully engaged out of any of his appearances and that says something about his love for his daughters.

“Gianna Bryant wanted to carry on her dad’s basketball legacy. Kobe was all in.”

Kobe and Gianna, Rest in Peace!
