Juan Talavera Dances And Speaks About Flamenco For Dance Channel TV

“Flamenco Dance With Juan Talavera”

Juan Talavera appears in this mini-documentary from Dance Channel TV on his dancing including sharing a bit about the gypsy background of flamenco.

He speaks of the improvisational nature of flamenco and how it loses a bit when choreographed for other contexts.

However the performance segments in the above video, which are great, seem to be from an appearance at El Cid in Hollywood or a similar venue that fits flamenco. Here you can see what he means by the dances really setting the pace and controlling each moment.
