Go Behind The Scenes At NYC Ballet Costume Shop

“NYC Ballet presents Form & Function: Designing the Dance”

This is a nice mini-documentary about the NYC Ballet costume shop.

It includes both the costumers and designers as they turn unique ideas into danceable costumes.

It also includes the choreographers and directors and pretty soon you realize that it’s a complex process to simply realize the designs in a way that brings everyone together.

I’ve never worked at this level of the game but my experience with pro costumers is that they’re some of the hardest working people in the industry at every level.
