GIRLFLY 2014: Dance And Activism In San Francisco With Flyaway Productions

“Flyaway Productions presents GIRLFLY 2014”

Flyaway Productions shares footage from the GIRLFLY 2014 program:

“Flyaway’s GIRLFLY Arts and Activism Apprenticeship Program provides a paid summer apprenticeship to young artists, facilitating both dance-making and community–based engagement. We bring together young women for the summer to get hands-on experience in contemporary, site specific and/or aerial dance, earn a summer stipend, create original dances for performance, learn and perform Flyaway’s dance repertory with professional dance artists, research and carry out an activism project and connect with young women across neighborhoods, schools, ethnicity, and sexual orientation.”

In the video below:

“The young artists of Flyaway Productions in the GIRLFLY program speak their minds and share their vision for a world without sexism through activism and art.”
